Blog 9: Imagine

The song, 'Imagine' by John Lennon is about imagining what the world would be like with nothing that separates everyone. Like religion, countries, possessions, greed, and hunger. The song is saying that the world would be a more peaceful and superior place.

Blog 3: What If?

I thought that Salomon brought up a good point. Our lives would be completely different. We wouldnt be able to learn anything. Like learning in school about math or reading. Or learning how to play an instrument. We need to know about historical events because we need to learn from our mistakes. If we do something we cant do, we cant learn how do to it because we're just gonna keep messing up and making mistakes.

Blog 7: Jonas' POV Change

Jonas is learning about things that dont exist and happen in his community. The first thing 'The Giver' showed Jonas was snow. Jonas didnt know what snow was because it doesnt snow in his community so hes never seen it before. He was surprised and saw snowflakes falling from the sky. He was very cheerful and excited when he slid down the hill because he has never experienced that before. Then Jonas experienced sunburn. Jonas was experiencing pain when the giver showed Jonas sunshine and sunburn.

Blog 2: Two Worlds Collide

I would definitely would rather live in my society than Jonas' society. I dont want my choices to be chosen for me because then my life wouldnt be as exciting. I want to live a life with choices and adventures. I want to travel and not be stuck in my community all the time.

Blog 1: Career Choices

In my opinion, there isn't a lot of good things about someone choosing a career for me. I would want to do something I enjoy, and have fun doing. I should be able to choose what career I want to do. If someone chooses something I don't enjoy doing, and theres no way to change my career, I would be miserable. 1 thing that is good about having my decisions made for me is that if I cant decide between two things, someone chose for me.
